perils of the great deep, thy servant, for whose preservation we now desire to return our humble thanks unto thee. May we all be duly sensible of thy merciful providence towards him, and ever express our thankfulness by a holy trust in thee, and obedience to thy laws.

Thanksgiving

FOR THE REMOVAL OF PESTILENCE.

ALTHOUGH thou hast wounded us for our sins, an^ chastised us for our transgressions, by thy late heavy and dreadful visitation of pestilence, yet now, we bless thee that in the midst of judgment, remembering mercy, thou hast redeemed our souls from the jaws of death. We offer unto thy fatherly goodness, O Lord, ourselves, our souls and bodies, which thou hast delivered, to be a living sacri e unto thee; always praising and magnifying thy undeserved mercies. May we never forget the warning we have received, nor the vows we have uttered, so that with grateful hearts we may live hereafter in thy faith, and fear, and love.
