4 and 9 as amended by this Act, and any guarantee signed by the Minister of Finance may be amended so as to provide that the interest guaranteed shall be at the rate of four and a half per cent.; or supplementary instruments may be executed or new instruments may be executed and substituted for any such existing deed or guarantee to give effect to said clauses 4 and 9 as so amended; saving, however, the rights of all persons accrued under any such existing trust deed.

An Act to amend Chapter 36 of the Statutes of 1912, 1912. c. 36. being "An Act to incorporate the Pacific Great

Eastern Railway Company."

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the "Pacific Great Eastern Incorpora- Short title. tion Act Amendment Act, 1913."

2. Chapter 36 of the Statutes of 1912 is hereby amended by adding

3. Subsection (a) of section 3 of said chapter 36 is hereby amended Amends s. 3, subby adding after the word "Lillooet," where it occurs in the fourth line of said subsection, the words "or the vicinity thereof "; and by eliminating the words "thence along the bank of the Fraser River north" where they occur in the fifth line of said subsection, and substituting therefor the words "thence continuing in a general northerly direction by the most feasible route."

4. Section 24 of the said chapter 36 is hereby amended by adding Amends s. 24. thereto the following passage: "and may be held without notice if

all of the shareholders are present either in person or by proxy."

5. Section 28 of the said chapter 36 is hereby amended by adding Amends s. 28. thereto the following as subsection (a) :

1. This Act may be cited as the "Revenue Act Amendment Act, Short title. 1913."

2. Section 3 of the "Revenue Act," being chapter 202 of the Amends s. 3. "Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1911," is hereby amended by striking out the word "auditing" in the third and fifth lines and the words "audit and duties" in the seventh line of said section.

3. Section 6 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking Amends s. 6. out the words an Auditor" in the second line thereof.

4. Section 13 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking Amends s. 13. out the word "auditing" in the third line thereof.

5. Sections 18, 19, and 23 of said chapter 202 are hereby amended Amends ss. 18, 19, by striking out the words " or in auditing" in the second line thereof.

6. Section 25 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking Amends s. 25. out the word "auditing" in the second and third lines thereof.

7. Sections 26, 27, and 29 of said chapter 202 are hereby repealed. Repeals ss. 26, 27,

8. Section 30 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking Amends s. 30. out the words "Lieutenant-Governor in Council" in the fourth and

fifth lines thereof, and inserting in lieu thereof the words "Minister

of Finance."

Amends s. 37.

Repeals ss. 33, 43, and ss. 44-52.

Amends s. 60.

Form of vouchers.

Repeals s. 63.

Comes into operation.

9. Section 37 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking out the words one per cent. per month" in the sixth line thereof, and substituting therefor the words "twelve per cent. per annum.”

10. Sections 33, 43, and sections 44 to 52, both inclusive, of said chapter 202 are hereby repealed, and the heading between sections 43 and 44 is struck out.

11. Section 60 of said chapter 202 is hereby amended by striking out the word "auditing" in the third line thereof.

12. Section 62 of said chapter 202 is hereby repealed, and the following section is substituted therefor:

"62. Vouchers are to be prepared and issued and payments made in the form of Schedules D and E to this Act: Provided that no voucher shall be paid in any other way than by cheque by the Minister of Finance or a Sub-Accountant, officer, clerk, or other person charged with the expenditure of public moneys: Provided also that no officer, clerk, or other person acting in a subordinate position as collector of revenue shall make any deduction whatsoever from the revenue by him collected when remitting such revenue to his superior officer or to the Treasury Department."

13. Section 63 of said chapter 202 is hereby repealed.

14. This Act shall come into effect on the first day of April, 1913.
