When the Priest is come up to the Altar, bowing

down, he fays: We befeech thee, O Lord, by the merits of thy Saints, whofe relicks are here, and of all the Saints, that

indulgere digneris omnia peccata mea. A


thou vouchfafe to forgive me all my fins. Amen.

Here at folemn Maffes the Prieft incenfeth the Altar. After this the Priest goes to the book, and reads

two or three verfes of the Scripture, call'd the Introit; which are different every day. At the Introit you may say the following prayer : Grant, Lord, we may be truly prepar'd for

the offering this great Sacrifice to thee this day; and because our fins alone can render us displeasing to thee, therefore we call aloud to thee for mercy.

Then he goes to the middle of the Altar, and says : P. Lord have mercy

Lory be to God on high, and peace on earth to men of good-will. We praise thee, we bless thee, we adore thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty. O Lord Jefus Chrift, the only begotten Son. O Lord God, lamb of God, Son of the Father, who takeft away the fins of the world, have mercy on us. Thou who takest away the fins of the world, receive our prayer. Thou who fitteft at the righthand of the Father, have mercy on us. For thou only art holy, thou only art our Lord, thou only art most
