The Approved Societies Consolidated Regulations, 1918, were altered in certain respects after this volume had gone to press and the following amendments should be made in the text of those Regulations as contained in Part III of the volume (see pages 172-263) :— Page 178. Article 12 (2) proviso— After the words "other than " in line 1 insert "any of." In line 4, delete the words "than as aforesaid." Page 192. Article 49 (1), proviso (ii): At the end of line 7, for substitute "for." of ' Page 199. At the end of Article 73 insert the following paragraph :— (5) In the case of a member transferring from a Society in whose Administration Account a deficiency had been disclosed, the provisions of Section 21 of the Act of 1918 shall apply to any levy imposed to meet the deficiency as though the deficiency had been disclosed on a valuation made under Section 36 of the principal Act and the levy had been imposed under a scheme made under Section 38 of the same Act, and as though the interval between the end of the period in which the deficiency occurred and the imposition of the levy, was the interval between the date as at which the valuation was made and the date on which the said scheme came into operation. In Article 91 (1) for the words from " If the sums in line 1 to the word "not in line 5, substitute : " If the moneys arising from business under the principal Act in the hands of a Society or branch amalgamating or transferring its engagements are not at the date of such amalgamation or transfer of engagements or any subsequent date (2) Where any expenditure in excess of the maximum available to the Society or branch for administration has been incurred, the Society or branch to which the insured members have been transferred shall charge the amount thereof to Administration Account and may, if such excess expenditure amounts to not less than 6d. a member so transferred, and the Committee of Management think fit so to do, make a levy upon the insured members so transferred sufficient to make good such excess expenditure.
