DE PROFUNDIS.

Psalmus 129.

Fiant aures tuæ intendentes in vocem deprecationis meæ.

:

Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus : speravit anima mea in Domino.

A custodia matutina usque ad noctem : speret Israel in Domino.

V. Requiescant in pace.
R. Amen.

V. Domine, exaudi orationem meam.

R. Et clamor meus ad te veniat.

DE PROFUNDIS.

Out of the depths I have cried to Thee, O Lord Lord, hear my voice.

Let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

If Thou, O Lord, wilt mark iniquities; Lord, who shall abide it?

Because with Thee there is merciful forgiveness; and by reason of Thy law I have waited for Thee, O Lord.

My soul hath relied on His word: my soul hath hoped in the Lord.

From the morning watch even until night, let Israel hope in the Lord.

Because with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him plentiful Redemption.

And He shall redeem Israel from all her iniquities.

V. Eternal rest give to them, O Lord.

R. And let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

100 days for saying the De Profundis or one Our Father, Hail Mary, and Eternal Rest, kneeling, at the sound of the bell, at nightfall.

It may end thus

V. Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Oremus.

Amen.

[300 dies.

Let us pray.

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of Thy servants departed the remission of all their sins, that through pious supplications they may obtain that pardon which they have always desired; who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.

Eternal rest, &c.

SALVE REGINA.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished sons of Eve. To thee do we send our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, those thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile ended, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus, O most clement, most pious, most sweet Virgin Mary.

MEMORARE.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, and sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

[300 days.
