PREFACE.

WITH a view of rendering this Edition more useful, I have inserted the Pleading and other Rules, which are now before both Houses of Parliament, but which, it is to be observed, are liable to be altered, and will not, at all events, come into operation till the first day of Trinity Term, 1853. They will be found at page 272. References have been made, throughout the Book and the Index, to these Rules.
