CHAPTER 33.

An Act respecting Drainage District No. 21.

CHAPTER 34.

An Act to amend "The Education Department Act," being chapter 58 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, 1913.

2. Section 8 of the said Act is hereby amended by adding Section 8 thereto at the end thereof the following words, "of which the amended. Minister of Education and the Superintendent of Education shall ex-officio be members."

3. This Act shall come into force on the day it is assented to.

CHAPTER 35.

An Act confirming By-law No. 38 of East Kildonan School
District, No. 14

[Assented to March 10th, 1916.]

THEREAS the East Kildonan School District, No. 14, Preamble. has represented that the trustees of the said school district, on the thirtieth day of May, A.D. 1914, passed their by-law No. 33, providing for purchasing four sites and building four new schools and for borrowing two hundred and twentyfive thousand dollars upon the credit of the said school district, by the issue of debentures to pay for the said sites and buildings, and that on the thirtieth day of July, A.D. 1914, the said school trustees passed their by-law, No. 34, changing the amount of the issue of the said debentures from two hundred and twentyfive thousand dollars to one hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars, and also changing the amounts of the said debentures and how such amounts were to be repayable, which said bylaws Nos. 33 and 34, and the debentures issued thereunder were validated by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, being chapter 20 of the Statutes of Manitoba A.D. 1915; and whereas the sites have been purchased and the school buildings have been completed, and it has been found, in order to pay in full for said sites and buildings, that it will be necessary to issue debentures of the said school district for the further sum of twenty-five thousand dollars; and whereas the East Kildonan School District, No. 14, on the fourteenth day of January, A.D. 1916, passed their by-law No. 38, providing for the issue of debentures to the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars, to complete payment for said school sites and schools situated thereon; and whereas the said school district has requested that said by-law No. 38 may be confirmed, and that the debentures to be issued under said by-law may be legalised and declared to be valid; and whereas it is expedient to grant such request,

Therefore His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

1. Said by-law No. 38, a copy of which is set forth in By-law No. 38 schedule A hereto, passed by the trustees of the East Kildonan School District, No. 14, on the fourteenth day of January, A.D. 1916, authorizing the issue of debentures for the sum of twentyfive thousand dollars is hereby confirmed and declared to be valid and binding upon the said school district and the ratepayers thereof.
