After the 21st or 22nd day the quantity of moisture in the atmosphere will again increase, and wet weather may be expected to the end of the month; indeed the last week will be of that damp, gloomy kind of weather that we generally experience in the next month. High tides may be looked for on the 14th or 15th days, and if the wind blow briskly from the west, which is very probable, some damage may be the result on those parts of the island. The Weather.-This month comes in with gloomy, dull, and wet weather, which will continue for the first week, when the air suddenly gets dryer, and clearer, and much finer weather will follow, and although some few November days are to be looked for, we think the month, on the whole, will be much finer than we have had it for some years. High tides may be looked for on the 12th and 13th days, as the moon is at its nearest distance to the earth, and with very small latitude. |
