The Grimsby Packet leaves Grimsby, about 4 hours before high water at Hull; leaves Hull, for Grimsby, a little before high water. The Packets for Gainsborough, Selby, Leeds, Thorne, Doncaster, Sheffield, York, Goole, &c., leave Hull from 2 to 3 hours before high water. THE WEATHER.-Moderate weather at the beginning of the month, with a tolerable quantity of moisture in the atmosphere and the air dull and cloudy. After the first week stormy weather may be looked for, and some downfal, with the wind sometimes from the south-west and changing suddenly to the southeast. After the 20th day the weather will be more settled, but still dull and cold, with a preponderance of moisture in the atmosphere. Indeed the barometer will remain unsettled for the whole of the month of February. THE WEATHER.-March comes in with dull cloudy weather, and a tolerable proportion of moisture in the atmosphere, but we do not think the temperature will be so low as we sometimes have in this month. After the 20th or 21st days we shall have more wind, and consequently the air will get clearer; but, as is common at this time of the year, the wind will be inclined to blow from the east producing all the unpleasant effects attendant on the wind from this quarter. |
