The quantity of moisture in the atmosphere is not so great at this time as during the last month, and as the month advances the air gradually gets dryer and the weather finer, which change will be particularly visible about the 7th day of the month. The barometer gets higher and more steady, with some brisk winds from the west and north-west, and although we may have several dull and cloudy days during the month of April this year, it will be on the whole, for the season, a fine month. High tides about the full moon, which, if the wind be from that point where it assists in bringing up the water, some damage may be done on our coasts. B 29S Oxf. Rather high tides may be looked for at the full moon, particularly if the winds assist the actions of the sun and moon on the ocean. The Weather.-The weather during the month of June will be changeable, and the mercury in the barometer never long settled together. For the first week there will be a moderate quantity of moisture in the atmosphere, and some few dull days; after the 9th or 10th days the air will get a little dryer, and some few days of brisk wind may be expected. About the 21st storms of hail and rain may be expected, and from this time the quantity of moisture in the atmosphere will be greater, and rain may be expected for some days, with intervals of cloudy and dull days. The winds for this month will, like the weather, be very changeable, being from the east, north-east, north-west, and west, with some days from the south-west. |
