The Weather.-July is generally found to be a wet month, particularly for the first three weeks of the month, and as the quantity of moisture in the air during the present one is considerable, we think that a more than moderate quantity of rain may be looked for, at least the month to all appearance will come in with wet weather. After the 9th the air will get a little dryer, and some hot days with thunder and storm on the 18th day in many parts of this country: of course, as is always the case, this will not be general, but in those places where it does take place much damage will be done, particularly amongst the cattle. After the 23rd the air will get rather dryer, and several hot days will be experienced, with partial showers in some places.

Winds most commonly from the west, north-west, and some few days from the south-west quarter, which will bring fine summer weather, and although several days may be heavy with clouds we consider that the present August will, on the whole, be a pleasant month. This month, on the average, is one of the hottest months in the year, the mean height of thermometer for the present August will not be so great as for some years past. High tides on the 16th or 17th days; on the latter day the moon is at her nearest distance to the Earth.

The Weather.-September comes in with fine weather and some few refreshing showers at the beginning; as the month advances the air gets dryer and advantageous weather for the ripening crops may be looked for, which weather will continue in a great measure until near the end of the month when it will change for the worse, and some few stormy days will be experienced, and the month will go out with rough weather for the season. High tides on the 14th and 15th days may be expected, particularly if the wind be favourable for bringing up the water.
