The name of this Society shall be "THE BIOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF WASHINGTON." ARTICLE II. OBJECTS. Its objects shall be to encourage the study of the Biological Sciences, and to hold meetings at which papers shall be read and discussed. ARTICLE III. MEMBERS. The Society shall consist of active, corresponding and honorary members. Candidates for membership shall be proposed to the Council, in writing, by at least three members, and, upon recommendation of the majority of the Council present at its regular meeting, shall be balloted for at the earliest ensuing meeting. A majority vote of the members present when the ballot is taken shall be necessary to election. ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS. The officers shall be a President, four Vice Presidents, two Secretaries, and a Treasurer. There shall be a Council, consisting of the officers of the Society and five members, to be elected by the Society. A quorum of the council shall consist of seven members. |
