6 Their webs fhall not become garments, neither fhall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

17 For he put on righteoufnefs as a breaft-plate, and an helmet of falvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.

RISE, fhine, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is rifen upon thee.

2 For behold, the darknefs fhall cover the earth, and grofs darkness the people: but the Lord fhall arife upon thee, and his glory fhall

thee, the forces of the Gentiles fhall come unto thee.

6 The multitude of camels fhall cover thee: the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah: all they from Sheba fhall come: they fhall bring gold and incenfe, and they fhall fhew forth the praises of the Lord.

7 All the flocks of Kedar fhall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth fhall minifter unto thee they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the houfe of my glory.

8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the ifles fhall wait for me, and the fhips of Tarfhifh firft, to bring thy fons

from far, their filver, and their gold with them, unto the name of the Lord thy God: and to the Holy One of Ifrael, because he hath glorified thee.

IO And the fons of ftrangers fhall build up thy walls, and their kings fhall minifter unto thee: for in my wrath I fmote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

II Therefore thy gates fhall be open continually, they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

12 For the nation and kingdom that will not ferve thee, fhall perifh: yea, thofe nations shall be utterly wafted.

13 The glory of Lebanon fhall come unto thee, the firtree, the pine-tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my fanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14 The fons alfo of them that afflicted thee fhall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee fhall bow themselves down at the foles of thy feet; and they fhall call thee, The city of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy One of Ifrael.

15 Whereas thou haft been forfaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16 Thou shalt alfo fuck the milk of the Gentiles, and fhalt fuck the breast of kings, and thou fhalt know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

17 For brafs I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring filver, and for wood brafs, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.

18 Violence fhall no more be heard in thy land, wafting nor deftruction within thy borders; but thou fhalt call thy walls falvation, and thy gates praise.

19 The fun fhall be no more thy light by day, neither for brightness fhall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord fhall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

20 Thy fun fhall no more go down, neither fhall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord fhall be thine everlafting light, and the days of thy mourning fhall be ended.

2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire caufeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adverfaries, that the nations may tremble at thy prefence. 3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou cameft down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

4 For fince the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye feen, O God, befide thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth, and worketh righteoufnels, thofe that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth, for we have finned: in those is con

tinuance, and we fhall be faved.

6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteoufneffes are as filthy rags, and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that ftirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and haft confumed us because of our iniquities.

8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father: we are the clay, and thou our potter, and we all are the work of thy hand.

9 Be not wroth very fore, O Lord, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, fee, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.

10 Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wildernefs, Jerufalem a defolation.

11 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burnt up with fire

and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

12 Wilt thou refrain thyfelf for these things, O Lord? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very fore?
