FELLOWSHIP PRAYERS selected by Sarah Truslow Dickinson The Womans Press 1921 100 THE NATIONAL BOARD OF THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATIONS SECOND EDITION, 1921 DAV PREFACE AVID LIVINGSTON, pleading for prayers and verses in small compass, brings forward the oldtime petition of one “quha glaidlie wald carie ane thin buik that can not easilie carie the hail Psalmes," and he asks that it be "of esie price." This little "buik of esie price" is sent out in the hope that it may encourage women who are working together for the Kingdom of God in the use of more intimate speech with the "Great Companion" on public occasions. In some of these prayers there are to be recognized phrases uttered by his personal friends of many centuries, but so absorbed as heart language that it has become impossible to ascribe them to their original sources. Through these gathered orisons may there be established new fellowship with the heavenly Father, Whom to know is life eternal. SARAH TRUSLOW DICKINSON. |
