OPINIONS OF THE PRESS.

“PUBLIC HEALTH LEGISLATION AND MODEL BYE-LAWS.

FIRST EDITION.

It has been specially prepared for those who desire to acquire the Diploma of Public Health, and seems well fitted to fulfil such requirement.”—Law Times.

". The little book will be welcomed." - British Medical Journal.

“This handy little volume certainly fulfils the author's desire to supply a need long felt. It is a distinct advantage that the book has been prepared by a lawyer, for a medical man, in similar circumstances, seldom emphasizes, or, indeed, realizes the important legal points, of which the student remains sublimely ignorant until the examination day. Throughout the book the definitions and statutes are followed by concise annotations, which are essential for a complete understanding of the subject.”St. Bartholomew's Hospital Journal.

“The work will prove a handy book for students preparing for the various examining bodies in England.Glasgow Medical Journal.

PREFACE.

In this work, a need long felt has, it is hoped, been supplied, by condensing and summarizing Sanitary Law, and the principal bye-laws of the Local Government Board, into one small volume.

The law on each topic has been quoted verbatim from the statutes, the merest tautology being, in a few instances, avoided.

The book has been written at the suggestion of my brother GILBERT ELLIOTT, who is preparing similar volumes on all the subjects required for the Diploma of Public Health, and Tropical Medicine.

Frequent cross-references are given to facilitate the simultaneous perusal of such parts as should be studied together.

It is confidently believed that a competent knowledge of the contents of this Digest will prove sufficient to satisfy the Examiners in Sanitary Law.
