WAYSIDE WORDS. A MONTHLY MAGAZINE. EDITED BY THE REV. FREDERICK HARPER, M.A. Vicar of Shalfleet, Isle of Wight. "CHRIST IS ALL." 1879. LONDON : PREFACE. COURTEOUS READER, Another year I have the great pleasure to send forth a new volume of “Wayside Words,” and I do so with many prayers for the blessing of God's HOLY SPIRIT. Some of the happiest hours of my life have been spent in editing the little Magazine ; and I feel most grateful to those kind friends who have helped me either by giving donations, circulating it amongst their friends, and writing articles and papers, while to my Sister I am indebted for the Sunday School Lessons which have been much valued. Good Angell James said—“The man who intensely desires to be useful, and takes the proper means, will be useful." Reader, I desire above all things this volume may be useful to you. If you know the Saviour of Whom these pages speak, may they help you heavenward and draw you nearer to Him, but if Jesus is not precious to you, and if none of His words have as yet made your heart beat with love and joy, then may you learn from these simple lines the power of His grace, and have cause to thank God for ever they fell into your hands. So prays, Courteous Reader, Your Affectionate Friend, FREDERICK HARPER. Shalfleet Vicarage, 1879. PAGE 48 : Berridge, of Everton 33 Editor, Papers and Sermons by : » The One Thing Lacking ... ...
